Ammonium Sulphate Manufacture

For processes generating significant quantities of ammonia in the vent gas, ERG has experience scrubbing this into dilute sulphuric acid to produce >25% ammonium sulphate solution suitable for sale as fertiliser. Using the V-tex® scrubber, which operates efficiently with viscous and high-density scrubbing solutions, the liquid effluent stream can be controlled to a high concentration of (NH₄)₂SO₄, minimising water content and maximising the revenue stream from this effluent. The solution can be further concentrated using an evaporator if required.
